LD2 Integrated Mobile Positioning Unit

The VERIPOS LD2 integrated mobile receiver is available in a number of configurations, from basic satellite receiver to a fully integrated mobile positioning unit with demodulator and multi-frequency GNSS receiver. Completely modular, the unit can be upgraded to different configurations.

The front panel consists of 7 status LEDs, 3 function keys, keyboard and mouse connectors, and an LCD display. This provides a simple user interface for configuration and monitoring of the VERIPOS receiver and optional GPS board. The rear panel connections include five 9-pin RS232 connectors, a connector for an external VDU and the antenna connectors

The LD2 can be used to derive a position solution, or used as a sensor to output received data and GNSS measurements to external hardware or processing software.

The LD2 works with an L-Band input within the range 1525 to 1559 MHz and can be used with the VERIPOS high-power and low-power satellite transmissions. To receive VERIPOS high-power satellite transmissions, the LD2 uses a compact high-gain omni-direction antenna, while for low power operation, a suitable stabilised dish antenna, such as that used on Inmarsat B and M terminals must be used. Interfacing to this type of antenna is normally straightforward, and VERIPOS can supply a special interfacing kit that ensures full compatibility and also protection of the antenna’s ancillary components.
