Veripos Standard service is a GNSS augmentation service that delivers differential GPS correction data via communications satellites. The service provides GNSS users, primarily in the offshore oil and gas industry, with enhanced position accuracy, reliability and integrity.
The Standard service provides metre level position accuracy, although accuracy will vary depending upon the users’ distance from the reference stations and also how many stations are being used in the position solution.
Description
The global network of Veripos reference stations permits the derivation of differential (pseudorange) corrections for the GPS L1 C/A-Code observations for all satellites in view at each reference station. These corrections are the basis for the Veripos Standard service and are transmitted to the user via various communication satellites. Corrections can be used directly in compatible GPS equipment or external processing software.
Correction Message Format
Corrections for the Veripos Standard service are transmitted in the standard RTCM SC-104 format (Version 2.3) to ensure compatibility with user hardware and software. The message types transmitted are Type 1, the differential GPS corrections, Type 3, the reference station coordinates and Type 16 information messages.
